This book shows students that your actions do have consequences。 When David misbehaved in class he was put into timeout。 You could also use it in class and ask the students what David could have done differently。
Olivia Repass,
This book would be great for the first day of school or when the kids need a reminder to settle down。 The pictures in the books are so creative and fun to look at。 I especially love the ending of this book it has such a sweet message!

Text-To-Self ConnectionThis story reminds me of my seven year old。 When my son transitioned from day care to school, he had a hard time listening to his teachers and following directions。 I would always get calls and texts from his teachers about his behavior。 In the story, David had his teachers hands full and just like my son, his teachers couldn't keep up with my son's energy。 Text-To-Self ConnectionThis story reminds me of my seven year old。 When my son transitioned from day care to school, he had a hard time listening to his teachers and following directions。 I would always get calls and texts from his teachers about his behavior。 In the story, David had his teachers hands full and just like my son, his teachers couldn't keep up with my son's energy。 。。。more

This book is a great read for kids going to school and would also be great for teachers to read throughout the school year。 I love the creative illustrations and bright colors in this book!

Text-to-Self Connection: How does the story connect to your personal experiences or background? Michele,
David's shenanigans continue as he, probably to his mother's great relief, heads off to school。 The pictures are again, bright and beautiful and fun。 I loved that the simple text is written in "child" font on school writing paper。 David is mischievous and busy and full of antics to which children as well as adults can relate。 He clowns around at the blackboard, chews a mouthful of bright pink gum, shouts out answers, daydreams, and cuts the line at lunch! Hasn't every teacher had a "David" or two in their class? Doesn't everyone know a "David"? Kindergarteners and first graders loved this book when I read it, as did my own children。 A+**Readers have the pleasure of watching David engage in a number of elementary school shenanigans as he makes his way through a very active day。 Unfortunately, his teacher takes less pleasure in his antics, and responds to each with a resounding "No, David!" Engaging and funny, this is an excellent book to read to young children at the beginning of the school year; children love it and parents and teachers can relate to it。 。。。more
Jaksen,
This book is GREAT。 Here's the intro I am writing for ten of the books my children and grandchildren loved over the years。。。This Christmas the boys - my two grandsons - are finally 'too old' to be read to, but I am not too old to read to me! (Told them so!) And because of that, I'm re-reading some of our favorites from over the years。 These are books I keep at my house - not theirs - and they won't get them until they (maybe) have children to read them to。 This is book number seven。。。David is a This book is GREAT。 Here's the intro I am writing for ten of the books my children and grandchildren loved over the years。。。This Christmas the boys - my two grandsons - are finally 'too old' to be read to, but I am not too old to read to me! Full of mischief, fun and what the generation older than me called 'antics。' Does he do one serious thing at school? Umm。。。probably not。My younger grandson particularly liked this one。 We read this copy so many times the cover is all bent。 As for David, when his teacher finally has had ENOUGH and keeps David after school。。。Well, you need to read the book to a child (or to yourself!) to find out。Five stars。 。。。more
Lydia Hantz,
read the spanish version for school。 still annoying。 lol
Joe Ro,
If I could give it less stars I would, I really don’t like this book and I understand why my library got rid of it
Kaelyn Cleevely,
I liked the message a lot within this book because it teaches students about poor decision making。 David, like many other students, has a hard time following the rules but he starts to catch on towards the end。 When I read this book to my students they thought David’s behavior was funny but we discussed how this behavior is not appropriate。 Overall, a super cute read that my students enjoyed to read。

David went to school his teacher ask him to do
KaitandMaddie,
Maddie knew a lot of the vocab and Kait happily translated the rest for her。
Thalia Garza,
This is another story in the No! David books and they are fun books to read。 They are simple, easy to follow and funny as well。
Jaelyn Walker,
This story will definitely make the students laugh, but it also shows students what is good behavior and what is not。 David goes to school and sometimes does not make the best decisions while he is there。 This story can be helpful to read to children because it shows a good message and can make them laugh!

Genre: contemporary realisticGrade level: K-1This book is very simple and an easy read。 I always enjoyed the David books。 He is very mischievous and always knows how to get in trouble。 It was always funny reading these books。 I don’t think they would be beneficial in a classroom because it doesn’t really teach a lesson, it’s more of a fun read on your own or at home。
Emily,
david David is very mischievous。 If that bothers you it’s not for you。 We enjoy it because we like to use it as lessons of what not to do。
Askia Chalich,
Funny and entertaining book to read to kids getting starting in elementary school。 One of my favorite books I remember getting read to as a kid。
Jay Gabler,
That girl sitting next to David has some legitimate grievances。
Madison Eller,
This book shows students to always respect their teachers and not to disrupt class。 If you misbehave at school you will have to face consequences。 Teachers can read this book to students and even visualize what you do in class, to prevent them from getting in trouble。 Overall, this book is a great learning experience for students!
Haley Kilgour,
A cute stories with few words。
Joanna,
Worst。book。ever!
Vanessa Ruiz,
I was being read this book, don’t mind me。 Lol it was cute 🥰
Sandy,
Not only is David one of the the worst behaved storybook characters, but he is also (in my opinion) one of the ugliest。 I struggle reading these books because I feel like poor David looks too much like a troll and not a little boy。 He is kind of distracting to the story and I wish he was a bit more relatable。 Regardless, this book teaches kids about good manners and behavior at school by showing how one little boy gets it all wrong。
Tiffany,
David was a tough kid to discipline in school because he often misbehaved。 I thought the teacher was a bit too harsh on him。 Maybe he wanted attention or maybe he was just being himself。 If I were David, I would have been annoyed by people constantly saying "no" and telling me what to do。 David could have had ADHD, a developmental disorder, or suffered from trauma。 David was a tough kid to discipline in school because he often misbehaved。 I thought the teacher was a bit too harsh on him。 Maybe he wanted attention or maybe he was just being himself。 If I were David, I would have been annoyed by people constantly saying "no" and telling me what to do。 David could have had ADHD, a developmental disorder, or suffered from trauma。 。。。more
Kylie Coon,
I think this book is super cute, especially for us teachers because there is always going to be that one student likes David! I think this book would be cute to use as a read-aloud at the beginning of the year for students to be able to sort of relating to the story。

Contemporary RealisticGrades K-1In this sequel to 'No David', David goes to school。 This is a great way, and a goofy way to introduce school rules。 The things David does seem so outlandish, but it can help reinforce school rules。 Contemporary RealisticGrades K-1In this sequel to 'No David', David goes to school。 This is a great way, and a goofy way to introduce school rules。 The things David does seem so outlandish, but it can help reinforce school rules。 。。。more

Illustrations that looks like a child drew them。 Shows a lot of punctuation throughout the book。 It makes kids wonder if David will behave at school。

The David series was one of my favorites as a kid。 And now as a parent myself I love sharing my favorites with my kids。 My daughter loves David and his crazy antics!
